The Pembroke Suite Restaurant

The Pembroke Suite Restaurant opened for the first time in the Academic Year 1991-1992, the aim being to provide students with an opportunity to work realistically under supervision whilst practicing their Food Preparation and Beverage Operation skills.

The Pembroke Suite Restaurant is a silver service restaurant overlooking St. George's Bay. Three course lunches are served to our patrons on weekdays from Monday to Friday and four course dinners on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. All the food preparation and service is carried out by the students themselves, under the supervision of their tutors.

The Pembroke Suite also has the facility of a conference room, The St. George's Suite, which can be booked for workshops and seminars. Adjacent to The Pembroke Suite lies The Pembroke Bar.

The aim of the Pembroke Suite Restaurant is to offer its patrons the best possible quality of produce and the highest standards of service, however, it may be necessary, at times, to reduce our menu selection in order to meet the requisite learning criteria. Portion numbers may also be limited and guests are sometimes requested to order certain quantities of each dish. The Pembroke Suite Restaurant is not a commercial venture, but a learning environment, and patrons will be served by students of mixed abilities at different levels of training.

Patrons dining at the Pembroke Suite are kindly asked to respect the dress code. For lunches patrons are requested to dress smart casual. For dinner male guests are requested to wear a jacket and tie. Children under twelve are not allowed.

Meals at the Pembroke Suite Restaurant are reasonably priced reflecting the purpose of the facility. The price for lunch is 15 euros and the price for dinner is 20 euros excluding wines and spirits (price for menu may vary according to festive menus planned or special occasions and events. Please ask the operator when booking to confirm price) . A deposit of 50% is to be paid for bookings of over 6 covers. The above prices are inclusive of V.A.T.

The Pembroke Suite is open from Monday - Friday for lunch from 1230 hours - 1400 hours, on Wednesday evening for a special theme night dinner, and on Thursday and Friday evenings for dinner from 1930 hours - 2230 hours.

Patrons are to be seated at 1230 hours for lunches and at 1930 hours for dinners, and are to vacate the Restaurant by not later than 1445 hours after lunch service so that students can prepare themselves for their afternoon sessions, and 2245 hours after dinner service, due to transport arrangements for students.
