Lifelong Learning Programme Teaching Assignments for Staff Mobility - STA The teaching assignments may be carried out by teaching staff from higher education institutions. In all cases, teachers undertaking a teaching assignment must be integrated into the department of the host institution. The beneficiary must conduct a minimum of 5 teaching hours during the mobility period abroad. The list of placements for STA has been drawn up according to the Inter-Institutional Agreements that have been entered into by the ITS for the current academic year. All mobility placements must take place between the following contract period: 1st June 2009 – 30th June 2010 The standard application form must be endorsed by the Deputy Director of the Institute. The following documentation must be attached to the application form: •to check all the preliminary papers necessary before going abroad All applications must reach the International & EU Office according to the deadline. Late applications cannot be considered due to the selection and funding procedure. Replies will be sent to every applicant. Funding According to the new regulations set by the European Commission, Erasmus Teaching Assignments grants are given according to the country in which the beneficiary is teaching. The grant will partially cover the expenses incurred while abroad. Therefore the applicant will have to seek other sources of funding to cover the full cost of the mobility period abroad. The purpose is to allow the beneficiaries to learn by transfer of knowledge or know-how from the experiences and good practices of a partner institution or host enterprise, and thereby to acquire practical skills relevant for their current job and their professional development. The selection will be done by the sending institution in the same way as in the classical Teaching Staff mobility. In the case of a mobility of staff from an enterprise to an institution, it is arranged by an invitation of the institution to the staff member of the enterprise; the grant is managed by the institution. The applicant will have to submit a work plan for the mobility period. The essential elements should be: overall aim and objectives, expected results in terms of training or learning, activities to be carried out and if possible a programme of the period. The work plan should be endorsed by both the sending and the host institution or enterprise. The institutions will be responsible for the quality of the mobility period abroad.
